Regional-Based Competency Test for Medical Record and Health Information Management Students in Indonesia

Abstract


The try-out average score of competency test
can be used as a prediction of the competency test
passing. This research was aimed at analyzing
the difference of try-out average scores of the
competency test toward students of Diploma 3 of
Medical Record and Health Information which was
based on the region in Indonesia. The type of this
research was analytic observational. The sample
were 3,170 students participating in the try-out of
competency test from 7 regions in Indonesia covering
East Java, Central Java, West Java, Yogyakarta,
Jakarta, Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. The
sampling used was systematic random sampling. The
result of competency test try-out was scores which
were analyzed by using one-way ANOVA test. The
result of the research shows that there is a significant
difference of the competency test try-out result
scores toward students coming from 7 regions. It
could be drawn a conclusion that the score average
of students coming from Java region is higher than
those of coming from outside Java.
