Strategic Planning Development of Information System and Information Technology in X Hospital Using Ward and Peppard Method

Abstract


The preparation of the strategic plan will help
an organization to achieve its goals and objectives, to
optimize the achievement and can put the organization
in an optimal position. In general utilization of IS / IT
within the Hospital X less than optimal and not show
the direction of good information systems development.
Then not supported by the management system and work
processes that are effective, and there is no strategic
plan for the development of the IS / IT. This study, aims
to make a strategic planning of information systems and
information technology which can be used to base the
development in Hospital X approach Ward and Peppard
method. This is action research study, using a qualitative
approach. Collecting data in this study using interviews,
FGD to management and observation, as well as the
review of the document. This study tried to explore the
needs of the organization in planning the strategy of IS
/ IT in Hospital X. Implementing Hospital Information
Management System (HIMS), but the existing information
systems is not supported by legal documents used as a
referral organization in the development of the IS / IT.
Strategic Planning IS/ IT, will be implemented over three
year Hospital and is divided into three stages. 1) In
stage first: focus on the identification, adjustment of work
processes IS/ IT, standardization of data and reporting.
2) In the second stage: focus on the development of the
network, infrastructure, development of services HIMS,
management and integration of Hospital Information
System (Papperless based). 3) In the third stage: focus on
the optimization and utilization of information for decision
making. There is still a gap between the conditions of IS /
IT in Hospital X standards of governance and architecture
IS/ IT, well as management standards HIMS. There needs
to be a study and preparation of management regarding
the condition of IS /IT owned and adjustment of the
development of the IS /IT based standards of governance
and architecture HIMS.
